Overview

Designing a scalable SaaS operations platform for the jewelry industry

Operate is a SaaS platform built to help jewelry businesses manage backend operations—from onboarding and order workflows to vendor fulfillment and customer updates. I helped shape the product narrative, brand direction, and UX system around a simple promise: making complex jewelry operations easier to run, scale, and manage.

The Challenge

Jewelry operations involve many moving parts: customer requests, vendor coordination, production updates, order tracking, fulfillment, and internal handoffs. For store owners, operators, and administrators, these workflows can become fragmented and difficult to manage as the business grows.

The challenge was to make Operate feel both powerful and simple. The platform needed to communicate value clearly to potential customers and investors, while the product experience needed to reduce operational friction across complex backend workflows.

What I Did

Product Narrative:

Sharpened Operate’s positioning around the brand promise: “Simplicity that drives scalability.”

Information Architecture:

Structured the product story and interface around the moments that matter most to operators: fast onboarding, fewer handoffs, reliable execution, and clear workflow visibility.

UX/UI Design:

Designed a cleaner SaaS web app experience that simplified complex operational flows and made each step feel clear, intuitive, and actionable.

Brand & Visual Direction:

Created a bold, modern, and forward-moving visual direction that positioned Operate as an elegant but serious operations platform for a specialized industry.

End-to-End Workflow Design:

Connected key backend workflows—from onboarding to vendor fulfillment to customer updates—so the platform could support jewelry businesses as they scale.

Design System:

Developed reusable product patterns, interface components, workflow states, and visual standards to keep the SaaS experience consistent across front-end brand moments and backend operations.

Key Decisions

Lead with operational clarity.

The experience needed to help users quickly understand what needed to happen next across orders, vendors, and internal workflows.

Make complexity feel manageable.

Instead of exposing every operational detail at once, the UX organized tasks into clearer steps so users could move through work with confidence.

Design for owners and operators.

Store owners needed confidence in the platform’s business value, while operators and administrators needed practical tools for daily execution.

Connect brand promise to product behavior.

“Simplicity that drives scalability” became more than messaging—it shaped the interface, hierarchy, interaction patterns, and workflow decisions.

Core Product Loop

Onboard — Jewelry businesses enter the platform through a clearer setup experience.

Organize — Operators manage key workflows, orders, vendors, and customer updates.

Coordinate — Teams reduce handoffs by keeping operational context in one system.

Fulfill — Vendor and fulfillment workflows move forward with better visibility.

Scale — A simpler backend helps the business handle more operational volume with less friction.
